The Liberal Jewish Synagogue is seeking a further Rabbi

The largest Liberal congregation in the UK is seeking to appoint a further full-time or almost full-time Rabbi to join the team led by our Senior Rabbi, Alexandra Wright.

This is an exciting time to join the LJS, with 1700+ members and a full and stimulating programme of services, events and learning opportunities. We welcome candidates who have a passion for the principles of Liberal Judaism and want to play a full role in the smooth running of day-to-day rabbinic responsibilities. The appointed Rabbi will be expected to engage comfortably with younger members in particular, whilst also providing intellectual stimulation and pastoral support for the congregation as a whole.

We are looking for someone who is very much a ‘team player’, who will work with, and complement the skills and experience of our Rabbis and other colleagues in our Senior Professional Team. Preferred candidates are those with a few years’ experience within a community, fifth year rabbinic students and those able to demonstrate particular interest in the nurturing and development of our younger members, with specific focus on KT graduates, university students and adults aged 25-44. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check. Salary based on experience and on the Liberal Judaism salary scale.
