Programme:
6.45pm: Erev Shavuot Service followed by an Israeli-style supper and the LJS homemade cheesecake competition.
9.00pm: Join Vadim Blumin, Head of Delegation to the UK & Western Europe, the Jewish Agency, and Magen Inon and representatives from Yachad for a presentation followed by in-depth discussion groups. Vadim Blumin will speak on the topic ‘My roots are in two disparate landscapes’: Minorities in Israel. Magen’s talk in this session is ‘Creating Hope.’
10.00pm: Discussion groups:
1. Led by Vadim Blumin on 'Reconstructing Body and Soul: 120 Years of Israeli Visual Art'
2. Led by Magen Inon on ‘Harmful Laws – The Role of Reason in the Interpretation of Religious Practice'.
11.15pm: A reflective session with words and music on the theme of peace with musicians Pini Brown and Adel Elbrary. Adel is from Sudan and sings and drums in Hebrew and Arabic and is part of Israeli community activities in London. You are invited to write a poem and perform it.
12.00am: Rabbis at Midnight with texts on the Land of Israel.
1.00am: Conclusion
