Monsieur Klein is a French and Italian co-production and stars Alain Delon in the title role. Set in occupied France, this Kafka-esque narrative follows a non-Jewish Parisian art dealer who is mistaken for a Jewish man of the same name. In wartime Paris he sets out to prove his real identity.
The film was premiered at the 1976 Cannes Film Festival. It received widespread critical acclaim and won three César Awards: best film, best director and best production design. Alain Delon was also nominated for best actor
