Community Care
Our Community Care Co-ordinator deals with a wide variety of pastoral matters ranging from listening to and advising members who may look after a relative with dementia, to co-ordinating Social Services to help get a congregant into sheltered accommodation. Referrals come from the Rabbis, staff, the KIT Group and also directly from many congregants. There is liaison with the LJS Bereavement Support Group and regular meetings with other LJS Groups including KIT, Video with Tea, Restaurant Tuesday, Out & About, Social Action and on Saturday mornings with parents of Religion School Pupils.
Our Community Care Co-ordinator also actively looks for and encourages volunteers who are needed in the many spheres of activity at the LJS whilst keeping in contact with Community Care workers in Orthodox, Reform, Masorti and other Liberal congregations.
